Prox'N'Roll RFID Scanner HSP Getting Started Guide

Before you start

These instructions will guide you for a successful start using your Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner HSP.
First, be sure that your system supports a USB keyboard.

If needed, this is the link to the Prox'N'Roll RFID Scanner HSP’s page to get up-to-date information regarding it.

You can also watch this overview video.

Plug the Reader into a USB port

Plug the Reader into a USB port into one of the computer’s USB ports.
Wait a few seconds until your computer enables the reader. While this time, the Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner HSP blinks yellow. As soon as the cyan light enters a smooth “breath” sequence, the reader is ready!

Then open the software you use to collect the data and start passing cards by the reader.

Configuring your Reader

The Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner HSP’s default configuration allows to work with all supported contactless cards in the most seamless and efficient way.

Yet it is also configurable for a large part to adjust its behaviour.
In order to do so, download and install MultiConf which is a free software provided by Springcard is required.

It is simple to use but we made video to help you to use it :

Troubleshooting

Important

This device uses inductive coupling to communicate with the contactless cards. Never place it on a metal surface or near a conductive surface or in the vicinity of another electronic device!

The Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner HSP keeps on blinking yellow

Unplug the device and plus it again.
Plug the device directly to the computer - do not use a USB hub.

The Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner HSP doesn’t 'see' my contactless card

Verify that the contactless card is in the product’s compliance list (ISO 14443 or ISO 15693 standard, or explicitly listed).
Verify that the contactless card’s form factor and analog characteristics are compliant with ISO 14443-1 and -2 standard.

Change the reader's configuration (template) with MultiConf.

It is not a Prox'N'Roll RFID Scanner HSP but a Prox'N'Roll PC/SC HSP

Springcard sells two devices having the same shell. If the computer asks for a driver, if the device lightens blue instead of lightening cyan, and if the device is not identified as a keyboard, then you have in hands a Prox'N'Roll PC/SC HSP instead of a Prox'N'Roll RFID Scanner HSP.
But it is a little problem because it is easy to change the firmware and switch the device's mode. Do as described below:

Download (follow this link) and install our software named F.U.U.
Launch it.
On the bottom right, find and click on the button 'Use Wizard'.
Choose the device you want to get.
Answer Next and Flash. The firware is changed.
